I always look for these types of reduced packaging products, too. Lots of packing is just going to go into the trash or recycle bin as soon as you get it home.

One of the challenges of making these strategies work is the handling of these products prior to purchase. It does require more care in shipping and in the store displays. Part of the issue is training of personnel, part of it is design of shipping containers, part of it is retail design. This highlights the need for collaboration with the supply chain to achieve green objectives.

I think these suggestions are all a terrific idea. Starting with the pants, very good... I never thought of doing that. Or switching my sides at all. And because of it my left side is quite weak. I'm going to implement this starting now. I already nod and say hello to people in stores, on the streets. Some folks hate it, some like it. I keep doing it regardless. I agree, it's a healthy way to be amongst the people. I hope doing all these things gives you a new side to view :)

i.e. shaving with left hand instead of right.
What it forces us to do is be conscious of actions that are ordinarily done automatically, with no thought to them.

Interesting concept - using music as a mnemonic device. I must admit, I google everything these days, so I think I am too lazy to create a song to remember something by. But, being a music lover I can definitely see the fun in it! ;)
BTW, The Sound of Music is my favorite movie, so I would not have been embarrassed to be compared to the Von Trapp family.
